The British Horse Racing Authority (BHA) has announced that the Listed Yorkshire Silver Vase Mares’ Chase, part of the abandoned Twixmas race meeting at Doncaster on the 29th December, will be staged here at Doncaster Racecourse at our Sky Bet Winter Jumps fixture on the 9th January 2018.
One of the first in a series of Mares’ races in British National Hunt Racing, The Yorkshire Silver Vase Mares’ Chase will be run for £30,000 and will include contributions from the BHA’s development fund and Horserace Betting Levy Board’s (HBLB) Race Incentive Fund.
Due to the significance of the race, Doncaster Racecourse commissioned the manufacture of a new race memento in late 2017. Designed and manufactured by Sheffield Silversmith Chris Perry, The Yorkshire Silver Vase is one of 3 trophies manufactured by the Sheffield Silversmith, including the Lincoln Trophy and the St Leger Trophy.
