With such a celebrated racing event, it’s no surprise we receive plenty of questions. To make your visit as smooth as possible, we’ve gathered answers to some of the most common queries so you can quickly find the information you need.
Visitor Information
Tickets & Booking
When do advance tickets close?
Online tickets remain open before and during each day of the Betfred St Leger Festival (subject to ticket availability) and can be purchased on the day of racing.
Can I buy tickets at the racecourse box office?
Our racecourse box office is open for the Betfred St Leger Festival tickets, from gates opening on each day of the festival. Please be aware that the Box Office accepts card payments only.
Are there any concession tickets?
Yes, if you are lucky enough to be 60+, we offer 50% off the gate price on the day, for picnic and grandstand enclosures on the day. You must have a valid photo ID. Each day of the festival has an allocation of tickets.
How do I get a PA ticket?
If you require a PA, a PA ticket will be issued with a valid entrance and PA ID card.
When will I receive my tickets?
All tickets will be sent via email. This includes tickets for restaurant and hospitality bookings. They will be sent out around 10 days in advance of the meeting. Sometimes these can land in your junk folder, so please check before getting in touch.
Can I collect my tickets on the day?
Unless at the request of the racecourse (for example, Personal Assistant tickets), there is no longer an on-the-day ticket collection option. All tickets can only be sent via email.
I am missing my tickets, what should I do?
Please ensure you have checked your junk/spam folders, if they have not arrived please send the following details to racingnorth@arenaracingcompany.co.uk so our team can check your details on the booking are correct.

Can I transfer between Enclosures?
Space permitting, you can upgrade your ticket to another enclosure on the day at the upgrade points within each enclosure.
Dress Code
What is the dress code for the County enclosure?
Gentlemen are asked to dress in smart attire, such as smart jeans or tailored shorts paired with a collared shirt.
Ladies are encouraged to adopt an equally polished style.
Please note: sportswear and offensive fancy dress are strictly not permitted.
What is the dress code for the Premier enclosure?
The Premier Enclosure requires a jacket and tie for gentlemen and smart attire for ladies. Jeans, sportswear, and sports trainers are not permitted. This dress code applies to all guests, including children.
What is the dress code for the Picnic & Grandstand Enclosures?
There is no formal dress code for this enclosure. However, most guests opt for smart-casual attire, and we kindly discourage sportswear or ripped jeans.
What is the dress code for the Home Straight Restaurant, Triple Crown and Sky Garden Restaurant?
The Home Straight and Sky Garden restaurants require a jacket and tie for gentlemen and smart attire for ladies. Jeans, sportswear, and trainers are not permitted. This dress code applies to all guests, including children.
What is the dress code for the Conduit Restaurant, La Suite Giardino, Bottomless brunch, Turf Club, Boxes, Press, and Owners & Trainers?
This area requires a collared shirt for gentlemen and smart attire for ladies. Denim, sportswear, and trainers are not permitted.
Travel & Parking
How do I get to and from the racecourse on public transport?
Shuttle buses will run from outside the racecourse into town after the last race. Alternatively, it’s a brief 15-minute walk to the station.
Please adhere to the various travel safety guidelines.
Taxis – Where can I get dropped off and collected from the racecourse
Pick-up and drop-off points:
- Leger Way – outside the Main Reception
- Leger Way – outside the Grandstand Entrance
Where can I park?
Complimentary parking is available in Car Park A for Annual Members, Hospitality Guests, and Owners & Trainers.
Car Park D is designated for Marquee Guests.
Public parking is located in Car Park C, where a £5 charge may apply.
Entry
What entrance do I use?
- Premier Enclosure, County Enclosure, Owners & Trainers, Annual Members, and Box Guests – please use the Main Reception Entrance. County Enclosure guests may also enter via the Champagne Lawn Entrance at Gate 4 (accessible from the main car park).
- Sky Garden, Home Straight Restaurant, and Conduit Restaurant – use the Main County Entrance.
- La Suite Giardino and Bottomless Brunch – enter via the Hilton Garden Inn.
- Marquee Guests, Chalets, and The Triple Crown Restaurant – use the Tan Crossing Entrance on Bawtry Road.
- Grandstand Enclosure – use the Grandstand Enclosure Entrance on Leger Way.
- Picnic Stand – enter through Gate 8 on Sandall Beat Road, opposite Wickes.
Will there be security checks on arrival?
Yes, there will be security checks on entry. Please bring nothing larger than an A4-sized bag.
Are there any age requirements?
Children 17 and under go free to the races when accompanied by an adult. You’ll need to select a child ticket when making your booking.
No under-21s are allowed on the Champagne Lawn throughout the Festival; this will be a strict challenge 21 area.
Times
What time do gates open?
Race times are subject to change. Please check the what’s on fixture page for the date you are attending the Betfred St Leger Festival for the most up-to-date times.
Thursday 11th September - 2 hours prior to the first race
Friday 12th September - 2 hours prior to the first race
Saturday 13th September - 2.5 hours prior to the first race
Sunday 14th September - 2 hours prior to the first race

Entertainment
What is on when?
The race card includes a full schedule of events for each day.
Entertainment will be available throughout the day.
After the final race each day, the following entertainment will take place:
- Thursday 11th September – Gok Wan
Music on the Festival Champagne Lawn in the County Stand, exclusively for Premier Enclosure, County Enclosure, and hospitality, marquee, and restaurant guests, lasting 90 minutes after the last race. - Friday 12th September – Café Mambo featuring Laura and Ben Santiago

There will be no post-racing entertainment.
Payments
What payment method do you accept?
All bars and food outlets will be accepting card and contactless payments only.
On-course bookmakers will still be accepting cash.
We do not accept cash at any of our food and beverage outlets or at the ticket office.
Do Bookmakers accept cash?
Yes – bookmakers will still accept cash, and some will also accept debit cards. There are no cash machines on the racecourse, so if cash is your preferred method to game with, then please ensure you bring this with you.
ATMS
There are NO ATM available on site
A cashback facility is available at the TOTE outlets on course; a minimum spend is required.
Food and Drink
Can I bring a picnic?
Picnics can be brought into the picnic enclosure only. Please do not bring any metal cutlery. Disposable cutlery will be available in the Silver Patriarch Bar
Food and drink cannot be brought into the Premier, County and Grandstand enclosures.
What food and drink options are on offer?
There will be festival food villages across the site, and the food court will be open every day in the grandstand. There will be offers available for catering to dietary requirements.
I have special dietary requirements. What can I eat?
There will be vegan and vegetarian options available across the site – The information will be detailed on the food vendor menus.
Can I bring in my own food?
You can bring your own food into the picnic enclosure; however, you cannot bring in any liquids.
I have specific medical needs and need to bring my own food?
Please contact the course in advance of your arrival and we will provide a letter confirming it has been agreed that you can bring what you need on course.
Are there alcohol free beverages available?
Yes – we serve a number of alcohol free beverages, including wine, spirits and beer, alongside a range of soft drinks. There is an alcohol free area available in the picnic enclosure.

What can I bring?
Racing is predominantly an outdoor sport, so do check the weather to see if it’s a sun cream or an umbrella, sort of day
Can I bring my camera & / or video equipment?
We love people to take photos on the course and share them across social media. However, professional and amateur photographers who wish to catch the racing action for personal or professional use need to seek accreditation in advance – send an email to info@doncaster-racecourse.co.uk requesting accreditation. If you meet our requirements, you will receive accreditation in advance of the meeting. It cannot be granted on race day.
Will I appear on camera?
The Betfred St Leger Festival is filmed by a number of UK and international broadcasters, so there is every chance you could feature on television. It is also covered by UK & international press photographers, so you may appear in the print media. We have disclaimers located at the entrance and around the course. We do not guarantee you will not appear in back shots.
Can I bring furniture?
We have some furniture available on course; however, please be aware that racing is not designed to be a seated sport, so furniture is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need a seat, booking hospitality ensures your comfort for the day.
We do allow people to bring deck chairs to the picnic area, and also picnic blankets. However, gazebos and tables will be refused entry… even if they are sporting their best look!
Can I smoke / Vape on course?
Yes – outside – There is no vaping or smoking allowed indoors, or in any area of the racecourse with three sides closed to the elements.
We have vapes available to purchase on-site; we do not sell cigarettes.
