With Southwell still unable to host fixtures following their recent flooding, we can confirm that on Friday 17 November, the scheduled Jump fixture will move to the Jump course at Doncaster.
Although the decision was made to abandon the November Handicap Meeting on the Flat turf course at Doncaster, it has been deemed possible to transfer the Jump fixture on 17 November to Doncaster due to the entirely separate nature of the Flat and Jump tracks at the racecourse. The Jump track has not been raced on since 17 March and is therefore in a significantly better condition than the Flat track, meaning it is appropriate to take this additional fixture.
The race programmes for both are available on Racing Admin, with entries for the Jump fixture taken as part of the normal entry cycle, closing at noon Saturday.
Doncaster Clerk of the Course, Paul Barker, said: "The Jump track at Doncaster has taken the recent wet weather well, and we will be in a good state to start jumping again slightly earlier than originally anticipated. Being entirely separate to the Flat track, the Jump track has different elevation profile and soil structure, and has not been raced on since March."
Further updates on the remaining fixtures at Southwell this year will be made in due course.
