Hugo Palmer has earmarked the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Churchill Downs as the long-term target for Blonde Warrior.
The Newmarket handler is weighing up a number of options for the son of Zoffany, who made it two wins from three starts at Doncaster on Friday, ahead of a potential outing in the mile Grade One contest on November 2.
Palmer said: “He loves fast ground and I would love to take him to the Breeders’ Cup for the Juvenile Turf, so I would like to work back from that.
“We will think about the Superlative, the Winkfield and the Solario. He is still a baby so we will take baby steps.
“Maybe the Listed race (Winkfield) is the sensible option, but others might think that too and it could end up like a Group Two.
“I fell in love with him the second I saw him and I begged the owners not to leave the sale without him and they didn’t
“What I like about him is that everything he does makes him better. He took the race at Doncaster very well and he had every right to win that race the way he did. The further he went, the better he got.
“He would have been about fifth or sixth on my two-year-olds list two months ago, but he keeps going up a place every time I see him out.
“I’m not saying he is the best, but I could not put one above him at this stage now. Potentially he is an exciting horse.”
