With hotels in hot demand for the Betfred St Leger Festival, Doncaster Racecourse has today launched a competition for one lucky winner and guest to win a night’s stay at the exclusive “Horsebox Hotel”. All you need to do is buy a raffle ticket from https://app.galabid.com/stlegerhorseboxhotel to secure your entry, with all funds going to the MND Association, a charity close to Racecourse organisers.*
Located right near the finish line in the heart of the action, Doncaster Racecourse has created the first ever “Horsebox Hotel” on site, a stunning converted vintage horsebox complete with beds, cooking equipment and outdoor furniture – giving two people the best seat in the house on Saturday 16 September and a unique view to witness the action, all without ever having to leave the Racecourse!
The full prize consists of:
- Full access to the Betfred St Leger Horsebox Hotel from 11:00am on Saturday 16 September until 10:00am on Sunday 17 September for two people
- Overnight stay on Friday 15 September in the Hilton Garden Inn, to include dinner Friday night and breakfast Saturday 16 September for two people
- County Enclosure admission tickets to Doncaster Racecourse Betfred St Leger Stakes Day on Saturday 16 September for two people
- A picnic hamper and fully stocked fridge including beers, wine, soft drinks and bottle of Champagne, plus afternoon tea, to enjoy on Saturday 16 September in the ‘Horsebox Hotel’, whilst watching all the racing
- Grandstand tickets to attend the St Leger Community Funday on Sunday 17 September
- Breakfast in the Hilton Garden Inn on Sunday 17 September for two people
To enter, all you need to do is buy a ticket for The MND Association raffle from: https://app.galabid.com/stlegerhorseboxhotel. The MND Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Up to 40,000 racegoers are expected at the Betfred St Leger the Festival this autumn, in what is always a highlight of the flat racing season and one of the most prestigious weeks of the British horse racing calendar. The Betfred St Leger Festival features four days of action-packed racing and kicks off on Thursday 14 September with Ladies Day opening proceedings for the first time in its modern history.
Rachel Harwood, Executive Director of Doncaster Racecourse, said: “The work of the MND Association has been remarkable and we’re keen to do whatever we can to help raise valuable funds. The Horsebox Hotel will be a truly unique and brilliant experience for our guests, offering the chance to win the best seats in the house and a place to embrace the atmosphere of the Betfred St Leger Festival even when all the other punters have gone home! We’re encouraging everyone to give as much as they possibly can to support this wonderful charity, but it’s worth saying that this one-of-a-kind prize could be won for as little as a one-pound donation, and every penny given will help make a difference.”
Angus O’Donnell, Regional Fundraiser, Yorkshire and Humberside at the MND Association spoke about the activity: “We are so grateful to Doncaster Racecourse and the organisers of the Betfred St Leger Festival for their initiative to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. The idea to stay trackside at the St Leger Festival, in a converted horsebox is a fun idea and we are hopeful that many racegoers will want to stay in it and enter the competition to win a night in it. MND is a devastating disease and unfortunately there is no cure and no effective treatments - but there is work underway in laboratories and clinics across the world to change that. The MND Association is a leader in the funding and promotion of cutting-edge MND research and as of 31 May 2023, we had a research grant portfolio of around £20.8 million. We can only invest in that level of work thanks to the support of people and businesses like Doncaster Racecourse and their generous network of customers, family and friends, who have chosen to support the work of the Association. I am excited to see who the lucky winner is.”
Tickets to attend the Betfred St Leger Festival are now available from just £16.00. Visit www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk for more information or call the team on 01302 304200 to secure your place.
