Racing Highlights

For sheer spectacle, atmosphere and excitement a day at Doncaster Racecourse is a tradition that is hard to beat.

Racedays at Town Moor have been drawing appreciative crowds for centuries and Doncaster has long been regarded as one of the finest racecourses in Europe and the best place for horse racing in Yorkshire. This year, we host 36 meetings at Doncaster Racecourse including:

September: St Leger Festival – 13-16 September

We at Doncaster Racecourse are proud to play host to one of the most prestigious race weeks of the British horse racing calendar, the William Hill St Leger Festival.

Here on Town Moor, you can enjoy a unique blend of history, top-class horse racing and fabulous live entertainment during the four-day September extravaganza.

The crescendo builds to Saturday, where the Festival’s signature event and World’s Oldest Classic, the illustrious William Hill St Leger Stakes, takes centre-stage.

Ladies Day at the St. Leger Festival - 14 September

The catwalk comes to Doncaster as Ladies Day is all about the fashions. It's also when we select our Best Dressed Lady. We send a team of independent fashion scouts to mingle among our guests to choose who, in their opinion, is the best dressed on the day.

Gentlemen’s Day at the St. Leger Festival – 15 September

The penultimate day of the iconic Festival attracts some of the most prestigious racing of the week, with the Doncaster Cup, the oldest race currently run under the Rules of Horse Racing, taking centre-stage.

We will once again enjoy the unique blend of world-class racing, vintage sports cars and all the ingredients for a great day out with colleagues and friends. Be in with the chance of winning great prizes if you are crowned best dressed Male.

St Leger Day at the St. Leger Festival - 16 September

The William Hill St Leger Festival’s flagship day brings the four days to a dramatic climax. The biggest day of the week and home to the World’s oldest Classic, the William Hill St Leger Stakes. The showpiece race consistently attracts some of the leading stables across the country and boasts a glittering roll of honour which is littered with some of the most acclaimed horses in history.

October: Racing Post Trophy – 27-28 October

Experience the thrills of the flat season at the Racing Post Trophy meeting when we see future champions battle it out. 2016 saw Doncaster King Andrea Atzeni achieve his fourth win in the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy.

Racing Post Trophy Day will also see the crowning of the ‘Go Racing in Yorkshire Best Dressed Lady 2017’. Finalists will battle it in the style stakes for the chance to claim the coveted title and a package of prizes including the chance to become the face of Go Racing in Yorkshire’s 2018 campaign.
